Profile
Aoc architects
The studio Aoc obsessively examines the border between radical modernity and tradition, engages in research of technologies and applied aesthetics and produces realized projects trained by concept and conscious creation of the atmosphere of architecture. The studio is located in Prague, Letná and takes on a wide variety of projects.
Among its realizations there are fountains for the Republic Square in Plzeň, residential villas in Roztoky, Bílá Hora or Mikovice, apartment buildings in Dejvice, the reconstruction of the theater Rokoko or the renewal of the avenue Revoluční in Prague. A current topic is a design for Spolkový dům in Horazďovice (first place in the two round competition in 2019). The stable group of architects in Aoc continuously collaborates with a number of specialized engineers, technologists, artists and theorists.
Klokner Institute
Klokner Institute at CTU (Czech Technical University) in Prague was established in 1921 under the name of Research and Experimental Institute of Materials and Building Constructions. The initiator, founder and first head was the CTU professor František Klokner after whom the Institute is currently named. It has four technical departments and the Composite Centre, an accredited laboratory and civil engineering court expertise workplace. Among other things, the researchers at Klokner Institute engage in research and development of ultra-high performance concretes (UHPC) and high performance composites.
Petr Tej is an authorized architect and bridge engineer. He is constantly involved in architectural and structural designs and realizations of bridges. He’s the author of several bridge structures from UHPC (Bridge Holešovice-Karlín, bridges in Lužec nad Vltavou, Litvínov, Příbor, etc.). At the Klokner Institute he is the head of the Department of Mechanics which solves challenging structural and dynamic analyses of complicated bridges in the Czech Republic (e.g. the Libeň bridge, Hlávek’s bridge or Palacký bridge).
