Company
ophelis is your partner for comprehensive office furniture concepts. As an owner-managed family enterprise, we have stood to this day for continuity, quality and innovative strength and therefore rank amongst the leading manufacturers of office furnishings in Germany. The company was founded in 1893 and has 160 employees today. All ophelis products are made in Germany and are produced exclusively at the company location in Bad Schönborn between Heidelberg and Karlsruhe. In 2006 the name of the company was changed from Pfalzmöbel to ophelis.
Our philosophy
We specialise in working environment design and deal with the constant changes in the working world. With our office furniture concepts, office furniture and services, we want to create a working environment where people feel comfortable and can work better.
Human networking is an important aspect for us – we do networking ourselves and want to support networking in the office with our products and services. We take a comprehensive approach, focus on user requirements, and design solutions which take into account working space management, communication, acoustics, ergonomics and workplace wellness. This also means that we continually develop new products which meet these standards.
ophelis & architecture
We see furniture concepts in an overall architectural context. High design quality means, therefore, to us in particular the integration of architectural specifications: the clarity and openness of contemporary architecture requires furniture which matches it. Therefore ophelis relies on cooperation with architects in the development of furniture systems. Well-known architects work with us.
Awards
All ophelis products bear the QUALITY OFFICE certification mark. It is awarded to products and services which surpass customary specifications and standards. Thus QUALITY OFFICE stands for much more than material, processing and design quality in product characteristics. It includes the GS mark as an initial requirement and takes into account the importance of ergonomic quality.
Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and 14001
ophelis has had a quality management system for years and was recently certified for this in accordance with the standards DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2008.
ophelis environmental management
ophelis has an environmental management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2008 to control environmental impacts and to improve its environmental protection measures. Consistent environmental controlling is made possible by balancing all environment-related consumables including circulating materials, energy, water and waste production.
