Joana Carmo Simões, Susana Dos Santos Rodrigues and Vânia Brito Fernandes
Profile
Founded in 2006 by Joana Carmo Simões, Susana dos Santos Rodrigues e Vânia Brito Fernandes, PAr is a platform of knowledge, materials and people that induce, inspire and concretize architecture.
PAr is interested in the reinterpretation of the local vernacular architectural cultures by contemporary logic, using natural and traditional materials, to improve the economic, social and aesthetic everyday life.
From the plain things we create the house, with the architectural culture and traditional construction knowledge, the materials and the people of a place. At the CASA CHÃ ® concept we reinterpret the ancestral legacy through contemporary logic, creating and nurturing social and economic dynamics linked to local crafts. PAr consolidated the CASA CHÃ ® concept in the prototype Casa Modesta.
PAr has been frequently selected at offical architecture prizes, such as the National Association of Arquitects Habitar Portugal 2015 and 2012 selections, and the National Wood Architecture Prize 2009 selection.
