MORE ABOUT RODA
VISION
“RODA is for people who strive to feel good, commune with their loved ones, enjoy the pleasures of life in harmony with nature, in the places they inhabit, and in outdoor surroundings that are beautiful, comfortable and durable”.
Quality, sustainability and well-being are the pillars of RODA – they uphold the company's solid status as an Italian producer of high-quality outdoor furniture. RODA is the expression of design that symbolises competence and Italian-made craftsmanship. Its collections are unmistakably characterised by sophisticated and cosmopolitan taste. With passion, far-sightedness and 30 years of experience, the company has become firmly established as one of the most recognised companies of excellence in its field. Thanks to an ecosystem of people and relations, RODA has achieved important goals and created shared value.
MISSION
RODA presents a multitude of inviting outdoor settings where innovativeness and refinement are continually evolving, where furniture is inserted with delicate harmony in the different areas of the home and its surroundings. RODA unites beauty with performance, because aesthetic gratification outdoors cannot exclude durability. Effort is made to find materials that in their combined state resist all weather conditions and pass the test of time while respecting the environment and giving the finished products an outward appearance of timelessness that remains fresh over the years.
Each RODA endeavour is imbued with respect for people, nature and detail. Every aspect of the production process is studied to guarantee comfort and lastingness. Materials and fabrics are an integral part of the RODA vision, with an eye toward enriching the home's character by offering a wide choice of finishes and combinations. These aim to respond to the requirements of each person while being an ideal expression of their personality.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The RODA philosophy gives priority to people and community, both at the company and in relationships with partners, clients and suppliers. Constant technological and stylistic research in full respect of the environment follows an intrinsically green design approach that ranges from the reuse of offcuts to the durability of RODA products. According to the Sustainability Award 2021 devised by Credit Suisse, Kon Group and Forbes, RODA is one of the 100 most sustainable Italian companies.
In accordance with a concept that embraces living in harmony with nature and making the most of outdoor spaces, RODA is committed to responsible and high-value design. Its production is based on meticulously selected sustainable and certified materials, such as teak that carries the FSC® 100% label (meaning products are made of 100% virgin material from FSC-certified forests); expanded natural cork; endlessly recyclable aluminium; a rich variety of fabrics; and strapping and cording made of recycled material. In addition, the GreenGuard Gold certification guarantees that the entire RODA production complies with the rigorous guidelines of American standards for chemical emissions (volatile organic compounds).
Not only environmental sustainability, but also a clear wish to symphonise economic and business objectives with social and ethical benefits leads RODA to contribute to the collective well-being of the local region, the company itself and the communities it touches. This is seen in company- led activities and interactions with stakeholders. One initiative involves a cooperative for people with disabilities, whom RODA employs for the mounting of strapping and cording.
HISTORY
RODA was born in 1991 in Gavirate, Varese from the passion and intuition of founder Roberto Pompa. The company has steadily gained traction in Italy and the world with its production of outdoor furniture distinguished by refined functionality and impeccable design.
RODA is the first outdoor furniture manufacturer to focus on indoor-outdoor pieces by incorporating the cultural matrix of interiors while pursuing the joyous spontaneity of outdoor living.
2021 marked the company's 30th anniversary. The very same year, RODA extended its interests to include the world of outdoor cooking with the launch of an unprecedented kitchen that is a natural complement to al fresco dining in pure Italian style.
A transformation process initiated several years ago in accordance with strategic views held by RODA management has led to the internalisation of production and the industrialisation of manufacturing by means of structural investment and the development of local industrial partnerships in constant dialogue with the RODA headquarters.
The Italian RODA facilities lie in Varese, Lombardy. They are composed of a main location in Gavirate with 8,000 square metres of showrooms and commercial offices and the complex in Bodio Lomnago, where 20,000 square metres host warehousing, offices, product development and a production floor. This is an optimal response to growing requests for customisation connected to the Mix&Match initiative, which offers numerous combinations of colours, finishes and materials.
In 2021, the RODA presence overseas was strengthened by the opening of two important locations
– one in North America, as a hub of commercial operations and logistics for the entire area – and one in Asia for the coordination and procurement of raw materials.
In 2020, RODA acquired Bina 1935, a long-standing local woodwork centre in Bodio Lomnago. This new facility has become one of the company's manufacturing assets by contributing robust experience with customisation, allowing RODA to manage all woodworking processes efficiently and directly. Bina 1935 is a Forest Stewardship Council®-certified RODA supplier.
Over 30 years’ time, business at RODA has progressed from selling to distributing to designing to producing.
