MORE ABOUT ROHI
CREATING TEXTILE VALUES
The ROHI weaving mill is one of the world’s leading providers of woollen seat upholstery fabrics. Founded in 1933, the family company has established itself as a provider to the international furniture industry, public buildings and the aviation sector, using proprietary production and finishing methods. That equates to true synergy effects for the three business segments: ROHI can build on the technical textile expertise of the aviation industry, using it primarily for the building sector, where the quality standards for public spaces are particularly high. Conversely, ROHI can transfer its expertise in well-being from the furniture sector to aircraft cabins – a real unique selling proposition in the aircraft sector.
HIGH-TECH FROM NATURE
The unique quality is founded on years of experience with wool, a high-tech fibre. ROHI uses only the best quality wool – ‘filet wool’, so-to-speak. State-of-the-art production processes are used to create upholstery fabrics that meet the high standards in the various segments. As a renewable fibre, wool has unique properties. ROHI’s proprietary finishing methods allows the company to get the most from the natural material. This results in extremely durable and soft upholstery fabrics, which are also breathable, dimensionally stable and dirt-resistant.
MADE IN GERMANY
ROHI has relied on 100% domestic production and thorough quality control for over 90 years. As every ROHI fabric is ‘made in Germany,’ we are in control of the entire production process at all times. There are no opaque supply chains, no sub-contractors or general contractors. We only cooperate with long-standing partners who pass our in-process quality tests and meet our other strict standards.
SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT
Sustainability is the top priority when handling the natural material. No pesticides, heavy metals, nickel and other harmful substances are used. Based on this commitment to sustainability, the third generation launched a new product group in 2016 under the 13RUGS label. It turns rohi selvedges into unique carpets in an elaborate manual process. A multi-phase felting process transforms premium production surplus materials into textile art works for floors and walls.
