About Wehlers
MORE ABOUT WEHLERS
Wehlers is an award winning design furniture company on a mission to change the furniture industry - For good: Wehlers has closed the gab between design furniture and sustainability by making great designs where the circular economy applies.
Danish designers have created a comprehensive portfolio for Wehlers that inspires furniture professionals and architects around the World.
Since established in 2015 Wehlers has developed into a notable design furniture company winning awards for its circular economy and designs. Wehlers customers want to surround themselves with a combination of sculptural designs and sustainability. Wehlers Customers have both design and sustainability combined.
Design philosophy
The Danish design legacy is seen in Wehlers designs. For chairs, tables, soft seating etc.: Easy, comfortable & sculptural.
Wehlers works with Danish designers who have proven track records and has shown them worthy in combining own lines and the Danish heritage.
Designing furniture for Wehlers not only means sculpturing a new great piece of furniture. It also means “begin with the end in mind”. One day the item shall no longer be in use, and the items shall be returned, taken apart and up-cycled in order to make new design furniture. This criterion ensures the responsibility that Wehlers has set out to take.
Circular economy
Wehlers has done what the World talks about: Established an ecosystem that secures Circular economy to preserve resources for current and future generations. This consideration concerns materials, design and assembly. After use all furniture is accepted back into the supply network, dis-assembled and reused for new furniture. Hence the materials used to make new Wehlers design furniture are a combination of re-cycled and new. In all cases materials are recyclable. No supplier of Wehlers is accepted without a careful selection and agreement to enter the Ecosystem that requires the return of the furniture that was crafted. Obviously this closes the loop and preserves the resources needed for the World to exist in the future. In simplicity: Wehlers does what we teach our children. Don’t leave anything behind and leave the World at least as well as you find it.
Transparency is seen in Wehlers open source, which secures availability of technical drawings for local repairs and spare parts availability. Respect, repair, reuse, recycle & remember is the philosophy.
