Chairs from Alias, Designed by Paolo Rizzatto

Product description

Small armchair with 4 star base in solid oak wood. Seat and back in plastic material covered with leather (cover is not removable).

Concept

Known for the objects designed from the mid sixties to the present, Paolo Rizzatto taps into his experience for Alias and enriches the young collection developed according to the well-established tripod configuration.

Next to young lady, characterised by the seat in straw of Vienna, Rizzatto proposes a new enveloping shell, fully covered with leather and fitted out with comfortable cushions.
New lady has been designed by paying the utmost attention to details: the stitching that characterises the profile of the shell and the details of the many base variants evoke the world of industrial craftsmanship, where the “hand-made” joins forces with the most highly sophisticated technology.

The seat uses a structure consisting of either a rotating tripod in die-cast aluminium equipped with a visible damping mechanism, or a new variant featuring solid oak legs.

New lady is the original interpretation by Alias of present-day seats for domestic use; a small armchair in which shell and structure, seemingly separate from the formal standpoint, blend into a project, which is as simple as it is powerful.
