Soul

Soul is a unique and ambitious development and a design for the 21st Century that fully embraces technological advances made since the archetypal origins of the now humble tubular Steel cantilever chair of 80 years ago. Sophisticated ergonomic analysis was built on the growing premise that controlled movement is vital to comfort. Soul utilises this fact to its advantage, by delivering progressive flex throughout the design. The chair literally moves and adjusts to the user’s weight, deforming yet supporting and thereby giving substantially greater comfort than one would expect of a non-mechanical chair.

Luke Person first met Tom Lloyd whilst studying at London’s prestigious Royal College of Art. They formed their aware winning product and furniture design consultancy in 1997, having spent a number of years working independently of each other for other highly acclaimed design studios. They have created stunning solutions for a variety of international clients, including manufacturers, consumer brands and government organisations.
