Concept
The NOBSA rugs are hand-woven wool rugs, manufactured in a small family business based in the eponymous Colombian city of Nobsa. Sebastian Herkner designed the NOBSA rugs for ames, which feature an elongated centre section. This creates the effect of two rugs lying one on top of the other. The designer was inspired by the patterns of the plastic bags, in which Colombian farmers carry their potatoes. The choice of colours and the technique of weaving in different directions lend the rugs their special look. The NOBSA rugs are available in four colourways: grey-grey-creme, grey-ochre-cream, red-ochre-cream, and blue-mint-cream. We offer each colourway in three different sizes. The products of the »ames sala« collection are mostly made from natural materials and produced in small, traditional manufactories. As each object is unique, there may be slight variations in size and colour.
