Chair 68
Chairs from Artek, Designed by Alvar Aalto
Product description
Alvar Aalto designed Chair 68 in 1935 with functionality, simplicity, and longevity in mind. The seat back is formed from three separate pieces, including a slender curved rail to support the back. The circular seat has a generous circumference. Chair 68 can be stacked up to four chairs and is available with upholstery and in a variety of colours and finishes.
Concept
While the chair is primarily for sitting, it must support a range of functions; it may be used for working, dining, or resting, for short periods or long durations. A good chair is portable and can be moved from desk to dining table to kitchen. It may be displayed singly or as part of a group, around a table or on its own. Artek chairs support the sitter, assisting good posture and providing ergonomic comfort. Aesthetically appealing, durable, and adaptable, they rise to the challenges of contemporary living.
