Alphabet of Light is a language of light, not only the design of an object but also the development of a strong idea: communicating through light with simplicity and freedom.

Today, the upper-case letters of Alphabet of Light are presented in in a smaller size. The original 2016 version follows a modularity based on a height of 95 cm for both upper and lower-case letters as well as for numbers, with a cross-section of 5 cm in diameter.

Alphabet of Light letters mini are just 35.5 cm high with a cross-section of 2.5 cm in diameter. Now it is possible to create messages with fewer space limitations and more freedom of expression in giving voice to values, thoughts and ideas through light.

Alphabet of Light letters mini cast continuous and comfortable light thanks to the patented optical solution developed for the previous version. Artemide's expertise developed a new patent for the circuits of Alphabet of Light letters mini optimising production with universal and flexible elements.

Concept

Alphabet of Light is a modular system of lighting components that allows signs to be written and straight and curved lines to be produced. Basic geometric elements form letters and graphical signs so that messages are able to be expressed and spaces modulated. The components can be combined in any way you choose and link together thanks to a hidden electromagnetic connector that leaves no trace of shadow or discontinuity. Alphabet of Light generates uninterrupted and consistently homogenous light, with power carried from one module to the other end up to 5 metres away. A thin aluminium core contains two LED strips that emit light to the opposite sides. The calibration of its transmission value and reflectiveness of the materials combined with the geometry of the external and internal surfaces ensure that light is evenly distributed without the light source being visible. Alphabet of Light emits pleasantly diffuse light with great efficiency thanks to the minimal absorbance of the materials.
