Fruit basket
Bowls from Auerberg
Product description
Concept
The basket in reality has no name, only the importer of Zimbabwe to Namibia is called Simba. »Simba« means Lion on Swahili. Our Simba, however, is a wire basket that was discovered by the two AUERBERG photographers Thomas Koller and Gisela Schenker in Namibia. The fascinating aspect of this basket is its simplicity: three bent wire elements, which are connected in sphere form and make up a versatile, movable object which can be presented on the table as new sculpture over and over again, depending on contents. Simba by the way, didn’t come from Namibia, where it is only sold, but from Zimbabwe - this also explains its name, which is a pun.
