The leather box is named ‘The Bookbox’ as it takes its origin from the beautiful old book-boxes, in which people would place their most valuable books to take extra good care of them.

This Bookbox is crafted in the most exquisite residual leather from Sorensen Leather. The leather used for this Bookbox is always the highest quality of aniline leather, but the specific colour changes depending on the specific left overs available. The residual leather box is always the same colour on the exterior and the interior, and apart from this large size, it also comes in medium size.
At home the large box is perfect for larger piles of clutter. Examples of use are in your home office for paper, pens or other office accessories, or on the coffee table in your living area, for remote controls and other hand-held devices around the home.
In the office the leather box is an ideal storage solution in meeting rooms, for notebooks, pens, remote controls, connectors, post-it notes and whiteboard markers. The Bookbox is our bestselling box and was the first of August Sandgren’s aesthetic storage boxes. It is an iconic box with a design that dates back to August Sandgren himself, 100 years ago. The Bookbox is made in various sizes and materials and the colour combination is composed by the renowned Danish designer, Margrethe Odgaard. Margrethe designed the colour universe with inspiration from mineral rocks and each box has one colour on the exterior and another colour in the bottom inside the box. We can make bespoke colours for orders above 50 units.
