“BISAZZA wears EMILIO PUCCI”
In an ingeniously crafted new collection of mosaics, BISAZZA captures the essence of iconic EMILIO PUCCI prints.
On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile di Milano - Fuorisalone - from Tuesday April 8th to Sunday April 13th, 2014, at its via Senato 2 showroom in Milan - BISAZZA will showcase a new collection of mosaic patterns, artistically influenced by historic EMILIO PUCCI prints.
This auspicious venture between two brands - recognized internationally for their signature use of pattern and color in sophisticated, daring, and elegant pairings - is a journey toward discovering the unique and unparalleled creativity that, portrayed in mosaic art, reveals the quintessential virtuosity that distinguishes the BISAZZA and EMILIO PUCCI names.
Interpreted in generously proportioned mosaics, the new BISAZZA collection draws upon details from original prints signed by the Marquis Emilio Pucci and transforms the famous designs into virtual “blow-ups” of swirling color - new, stylistically refined decor pieces, created to “dress-up” the trendiest interiors.
Geometric patterns and striking colors define the motifs for the Alba, Amelie and Onde designs, expressions of the unique and timeless aesthetic language typical of the house of Pucci.
Visually bold, Alba (designed in 2006) is a floral print conveyed in rich, bold colors that, cleverly juxtaposed, make this a surprising and sophisticated interior design solution for the living room.
Star player in Amelie (introduced in 2006) is another geometric floral pattern in shades of aquamarine on a black and white background, producing a very modern graphic effect. The print, which opens up across six panels, communicates a sense of movement and harmonious continuity.
Based on the designs for a scarf published in 1969, the Onde pattern symbolizes the fluid motion of the sea, presented in delightfully unexpected warm shades of brown, beige, white and black.
Timeless pattern of gradient shades of black and white with signature Emilio Pucci flair is capable of defining a setting with bold personality.
In addition to the three digitally created patterns, the collection also includes three precious decorative mosaic panels entirely made by hand in the traditional opus tessellatum technique. The panels showcase motifs inspired by three historical prints of the maison Emilio Pucci: Collane (1971) Fontana (1968) and Vivara (1976).
Fantasy and sophistication give life to these three artworks characterized by unique textures and color combinations: acid tones for Collane, turquoise shades and cobalt for Fontana, and a mix of coral and burgundy for Vivara. Blurring the lines between fashion, art, and design, the masterfully crafted mosaic panels are designed to decorate a wide variety of interiors.
Pioneering ahead of the fashion curve, this collection of great charm and current appeal is the stunning result of a partnership in “prints” between the house of EMILIO PUCCI and BISAZZA decorative mosaics. Through the meticulous research and study of the “science of color” that characterizes the style and skilled craftsmanship of these two Italian brands, this partnership underscores the artistic finesse and caliber of the two brands.
“This is a great opportunity for our graphic designs to move beyond the bounds of the concept of fashion, evolving into a bold new artistic expression.
Bisazza’s interpretation of our prints underscores their beauty and power, thanks to the fine quality and attention to detail of Italian-made products.” Laudomia Pucci
