rapunzel
Shelving from Brühl, Designed by Kati Meyer-Brühl
Product description
Storage space, artistically inspired: The comb – a commonplace article of daily use – was the inspiration for this unique, humorous and utterly useful shelf whose special feature lies in the fact that the ‘teeth’, instead of dividing hair as they would in a comb, here give hold: They reliably hold the individual shelves in place while at the same time allowing easy adjustments of position. Only the top and bottom shelf have been permanently fixed for static reasons. In combination with the light- coloured natural wood it is made from, the rapunzel shelf develops a lively and cheerful effect – as a cupboard, a bookcase, a storage space for collectibles or a particularly handsome, carefully crafted object.
Concept
Storage with objet d’art character: The shape of this unusual shelf was inspired by a familiar everyday item – a comb. An unusual construction aspect is that the “teeth” of the comb securely hold the shelves yet at the same time also make it possible to position them as required. Only the top and bottom shelves are fixed. Handcrafted from plywood, natural oiled, rapunzel looks friendly and natural, and can essentially be used in any room to store crockery, as a bookshelf, or to display collectables.
