Fiber 3 Melange
Drapery fabrics from Caimi Brevetti, Designed by Caimi Lab
Product description
Concept
FIBER 3 – MELANGE = MELANGE (TWEED)
FIBER 3 – acoustic “wool” finish woven fabric, obtained from the set of yarns composed of light and dark fibres, then dyed in pieces to give the set a TWEED effect. The fabric does not have a precise direction and this allows to work and cut it according to different shapes.
MELANGE-TWEED – is the fabric obtained with a weave given by a set of yarns of different colours whose fibres have been mixed before spinning to give a melted and shaded effect. TWEED defines a particular wool fabric originating from Scotland, soft and warm.
The patented Snowsound Fiber technology is based on soft interwoven polyester acoustic fibers that are inherently fire-resistant. The interaction between Snowsound Fiber and air allows controlling reverberation while adjusting the environment’s acoustics with precision taking advantage of installation modes, product’s surface and distance from the wall. This reduces the annoying acoustic reverberation improving quality both of life and of work.
ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
Snowsound Fiber materials have been tested according to UNI EN ISO 354.
The choice of different Snowsound Fiber materials and the installation modes allow a selective absortion at precise ranges (low, medium, high) or a more uniform absortion at all frequencies. Snowsound Fiber’s behavior varies based on the selected material and the installation mode and can reach A class for sound absorption.
GREENGUARD GOLD CERTIFICATION
Snowsound Fiber products have received Greenguard Gold certification, indicating that they are low emitting products and do contribute to improve indoor air quality. Representative samples of products bearing the Greenguard certification mark have been independently tested and certified that they meet UL’s rigorous third-party Greenguard certification standards, which are among the most stringent in the world. To help reduce indoor air pollution, architects, designers, specifiers and building owners should choose materials and products that release the fewest possible pollutants (also known as low-emitting products). A great way to do this is by choosing products that are Greenguard certified, which means they have been screened for over 10,000 chemicals and do not emit high levels of chemical pollutants. Greenguard Gold certified products offer stricter certification criteria for sensitive individuals, such as children and the elderly, and are ideal for use in schools and healthcare facilities. Greenguard certified products also contribute toward credits within the indoor environmental quality section of the leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) building rating system and the WELL Building Standard.
NO FORMALDEHYDE
Snowsound Fiber products have no detectable formaldehyde contents, tested according to the UNI EN 717-2.
ECO-FRIENDLY
In designing the fabric, the goal was to achieve complete product recyclability at the end of its life.
This is why the fabrics are made wholly in single fibre and 100% recyclable polyester.
The plastic and metal components are also all single material and easy to take apart and recycle.
The fabrics do not contain felt or other natural materials that are often difficult to recycle.
Use of high quality products and manufacturing lengthen the life of the products and therefore, result in reductions in materials and energy.
FIRE
Snowsound Fiber fabrics have Italian Class 1 reaction to fire and Euroclass B-s2, d0 or B-s1, d0 depending on the type of material.
