Concept
After graduating from Harvard with a master’s in architecture, Lee Mindel co-founded the firm Shelton Mindel & Associates in 1978 with fellow architect Peter Shelton. Following the death of his partner in 2012, Mindel assumed leadership of the company, now known as SheltonMindel. The firm has earned numerous accolades for its architecture, interior design and product design over the years, including recognition as one of the top 100 design firms of the 20th century by Architectural Digest. Inductees into the Interior Design Hall of Fame, both Mindel and Shelton were also awarded the 2011 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award. Mindel’s first project for us, the Pocket Table (2016), serves as a building block for discreet yet ample storage. This sleek piece with perfectly mitered corners looks like a solid pedestal but offers the added benefit of two hidden drawers with vacuum closures. Use just one or combine multiples to create a large coffee table arrangement. Made in Malaysia.
