Origami Collection
Drapery fabrics from Designtex
Product description
Inspired by the art of traditional Japanese paper folding, this innovative textile, which won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for Best of the Best 2013, can be used either as a panel fabric or a drapery. When installed as a drapery, the fabric's regular angled surfaces are engineered to provide acoustic absorption.
Both of these distinctive patterns, Chiyogami and Kabuto, are woven with an exclusive production and finishing process to create their origami-inspired forms. The unique method of shaping the pleats results in a three-dimensional textile with striking structural qualities, accentuated by the play of light and shadow. The crisp lines that define the angled surfaces are highlighted by color accents, giving the fabric an even more dramatic three-dimensional effect.
