Bolder

If you been to a working harbor, the Bolder should look familiar. Designer Chris Slutter's inspiration was the simple yet substantial mooring bollard. (Bolder is the Dutch word for bollard.) The Bolder's potential uses make playful references to maritime culture. While a bollard secures a ship in the waters of a port, water goes inside the Bolder when treated as vase. Filling the Bolder with ice to chill wine is a nod to the tradition of christening a new ship with a bottle of champagne.
