Luftschiff
Suspended lights from Functionals, Designed by Johannes Gille, Jos Kranen
Product description
Concept
Luftschiff
Kranen/Gille’s light fixture floats in the air just like its namesake: the airship or zeppelin of the 1930s. Nearly invisible steel wires suspend the submarine-shaped, cast-aluminum body from the ceiling, while a heavy black cable tethers it to a power source. With this interplay between heavy and light, past and present, Luftschiff makes a dramatic, thought-provoking addition to a dining room or office environment.
Measuring 1m 30 cm, the Luftschiff accommodates two D5 fluorescent tubes.
