Concept
Yamasho is a sukiya-architecture carpenter based in Kyoto. The Sukiya architecture was developed in Kyoto during Azuchi Momoyama period (1568-1600). Opposed to the strict shoin-zukuri architecture, many shapes are omitted, allowing liberty of creativeness. Raw materials are often used to represent an aesthetic of beauty. Together with Garnier & Linker, Yamasho revisit the notion of the tea house. A modern version designed for Western interiors.
