Inspired by the De Stijl movement, our Ondrian Pendant uses vertical lines crafted from forged, hand-hammered steel to create a subtly distressed look. As a counterpoint, clean horizontal plates surround the bars and a drum shade finishes the composition.

Concept

Piet Mondrian was a painter involved in the De Stilj artistic movement that came out of Amsterdam in the 1920s. Our collection takes inspiration from Mondrian and the movement. Using a hammer manufactured in a neighboring town more than a century before, red-hot steel is worked to create the subtly distressed look of the vertical bars that counterbalance the simple horizontal lines. Although we're a long way from the Amsterdam of the 1920s, our art-obsessed craftspeople are still representing "The Style."
