Isio Bajii (Terrazza Alta)
Wall coverings / wallpapers from ISIDORE LEROY, Designed by Abel Rodriguez
Product description
Isio Bajii (Terrazza Alta) is a memory painting about the fauna and flora of the Cahuinari River, in the Caqueta basin, a tributary of the Amazon in southern Colombia.
The mural created from this painting supports the work of its author and his approach to preserving and transmitting the natural environment and culture of the Nonuya and Nuinane peoples, as well as the traditional way of teaching biological knowledge, the role of each plant, and their spiritual significance, from generation to generation.
Mogaje Guihu (Abel Rodriguez), also known as Don Abel, was born among the Nonuya in 1944. He was trained by his uncle in the knowledge of traditional botany. In the 1990s, due to the violent unrest in the region, he had to move to Bogotá, where he developed his painting practice. Today his work is internationally recognized by artists, curators, and scientists.
At Isidore Leroy, we are particularly convinced of the artistic and cultural importance of Mogaje Guihu's paintings. We are very happy and proud to participate in the dissemination of his work to a wider public, through wall decorations.
This set consists of two panels (A and B) of 1.50m wide up to 3.30m high each, which are connected in an alternating way to form sets of infinite length. The panels are cut into three 50 cm wide strips.
Available on non-woven paper(lightfast, wall mountable, washable, dry-tearable) or High Performance Contract (washable and impact resistant. PVC-free).
