Hiroshima 2
Table lights from Karen Chekerdjian, Designed by Karen Chekerdjian
Product description
Brushed copper
Concept
Viewed from the front, the mushroom-shaped steel dome of the lamp appears balanced on a bulky base. Viewed from the side, the dome remains visible but the base practically disappears, reduced to a wire-thin profile. Through this meditation on the duality of appearance, Hiroshima explores the dichotomy of war and exposes the unhealthily seductive aesthetic at work in the design of many weapons of destruction.
