Dining tables from Karen Chekerdjian, Designed by Karen Chekerdjian
Product description
Concept
nspired by the Hansel & Gretel fairytale, this dining table straddles a fine line between the natural and the designed and draws attention to the quality and nature of its materials, as much as the way they are put together. Set on simple iron legs, the tabletop is composed of old pieces of walnut, which are of varying thickness. No attempt is made to hide this fact, nor for that matter the defects in the wood (knots, breaks) that have simply been sanded smooth for safety. Similarly, the leather tablecloth, which is carefully inlaid into the tabletop and hand-stitched to its edges, is not worked and is made from a single, unshaped tan-coloured hide.
