Mesquite End Grain is also ideal for almost any type of setting and since the lumber inherently has cracks due to growing in dessert windy climates. Finding clear grade long boards is very difficult and expensive. But one of the best uses of this special species is in manufacturing small end cut blocks as we do at Kaswell. Although not commercially harvested, mesquite is rapidly renewable and self-perpetuating.
