Concept
Nanna Ditzel(1923-2005)
Nanna, having graduated from an arts and crafts school in 1946, established a joint office with her husband Jorgen Ditzel (deceased in 1961). After that, she won various awards in Milan Triennale, including the Gold Prize in 1960. Her design is characterized by feminine elegance and respect for the beauty of nature. She was engaged not only in furniture design but also in textile design. One interesting point of her chair design is that, depending on the color of the textile, the whole chair appears significantly different. The Hallingdal series of textiles of Kvadrat (a textile manufacturer in Denmark) designed by Nanna matches best with the chairs she designed.
