Concept

The simple shape of the Hoa containers is especially enchanting due to its special surface. The pattern appears as if engraved, tapering off towards the top, although it is first modelled and etched in wax by hand. The container is then poured in a sand-casting process and its surface is finished in several handcrafting steps. The beautiful, dark patina is created through various immersion baths. Hoa is ideal as a “cache pot” for plants, but an insert or saucer should always be used to protect the metal from corrosion. The surface can be cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth, but abrasive objects will scratch the fine surface.
