Product description
After the world premiere at Salone del Mobile 2015, Lammhults presents table concept Cajal at Stockholm Furniture Fair for the first time. Easy chair, bench/sofa Cajal, introduced 2014, has now been completed with a table concept in several executions for your personal choice.
Cajal table comes in two heights that, combined with various sizes and materials, allow the users to build their own characteristic constellations. You can place one, two or several tables next to each other, maybe in different heights. One table can be placed beneath another. The various alternatives when it comes to table tops and frames enable unique settings.
The table tops come in plywood, with ash veneer, natural or stained black or white, alternatively in linoleum in two nuances, ”Charcoal” or ”Mushroom”. In addition, the smallest table also comes with an exclusive white Carrara marble as an accent. The frame is made from a thin, solid steel thred, shaped in a soft loop. The thin, airy frame can be chromed or lacquered, for instance to match the colour of the table top.
The designer Gunilla Allard says: ” The simple and clean design testifies an honesty towards materials, a clear presentation of what the product consists of. The constellations in ash, natural or stained black, create a Scandinavian feeling. With linoleum and marble, the tables mirror a more elegant, international grace.” Cajal table is the obvious complement to Cajal easy chair and bench/sofa, but also to other products in the collection of Gunilla Allard, for example Cinema easy chair/sofa.
The table tops come in the following sizes: 40x40 cm, 40x75 cm, 75x75 cm and 40x100 cm and in height 45 and 52 cm.

Concept
During Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan Lammhults presents the elegant and refined, timeless yet modern series Cajal, designed by Gunilla Allard.
Gunilla Allard says ”The process started with the smaller sofa - small, neat and with a visible steel tubing enclosing the back of the sofa like a stroke of a pen or, why not a kajal pencil?” Cajal has some obvious similarities with Gunilla Allard’s successful chair series Comet, well-known for its silhouette and also its extra comfort with a hidden cushion to support the low back. Parallel seams on the back of the sofa add rhythm and character. The rear legs form characteristic silhouettes ending in a softly shaped foot plate. Cajal comes as an easy chair, a small or a spacious sofa. By offering the sofa in two dimensions, Lammhults creates a number of possible areas of use. Together with the easy chair, the small or the more spacious sofa can find its place at the office, in the restaurant, in the waiting area or at home. Cajal offers a number of options when it comes to colour and material. The upholstery, in fabric or leather, can be homo- geneous or be combined with a different colour to the seat or the back. The steel tubing comes in powder coat or chrome, giving the product several different expressions. For instance, an elegant version in chrome or leather, or a softer expres- sion with a beautiful fabric combined with a powder coated steel tubing in a different colour.
The seat consists of a fusion moulded shell of glass fibre, enabling precise, three-dimensional shapes. The thin edge of the seat encloses the steel tubing - only possible through this technology. Two mouldings are being made in one – the inner part stands for comfort, the outer part stands for stability and the very precise expression of the sofa.
