Sacher wall sconce
Wall lights from LOBMEYR, Designed by Ludwig Lobmeyr
Product description
Concept
This line is one of the first chandeliers ever to be designed and produced for electrical light bulbs in collaboration with Thomas A. Edison for the Viennese Hotel Sacher. The other projects rivalling for being the first electrical chandelier are the Office of the Lord Mayor of Vienna and the Imperial Hofburg Palace. Typical element of these early electrical chandeliers is the light bulbs mounted in a hanging position. This was a requirement for technical reasons.
