Grus
Free-standing lights from Lumen Center Italia, Designed by Valerio Sommella, Alberto Saggia
Product description
Concept
Cranes are elegant birds characterized by long paws and beak; this name also remind a small - although very bright - constellation named in latin Grus, whose stars seems to draw a crane ready to take off.
This conception shaped our floor lamp, with decentralized lighting spot and with a thin geometric structure finely realized in aluminium sheet, which gives a very light appearance but at the same time a solid look.
The framework is composed of two parts, one pivoted on the other, and allows height regulation of the large textile diffuser. Light is hidden and enclosed between two opaline discs filtering and diffusing light, creating a pleasant and comfortable mood.
The whole structure is fixed by a metal adjustable wire placed on the base of the lamp, and by a metal rhomboidal plate balancing the long weight arm with the diffuser.
