Hans | Daybed, black
Beds from Magazin®, Designed by Juliane Lanig, Moritz Schmidt
Product description
The Daybed HANS is based in principle on the proven design of the bed HANS. As a daybed, it expands our range of MAGAZIN products. Even as a sofa - equipped with a set of back cushions that provide good seating comfort - it is the right choice: chilling, resting, family life, watching TV - it all goes well. Thanks to the minimalist design, daybed HANS complements existing furniture and stands effectively even as a solitaire. In mattress size 90 × 200 cm, it can also be used as a single bed, guest or youth bed.
Like the bed, it stands on fine steel legs, which develop from the steel head and foot sections. These are connected to the two bed sides made of coated birch plywood and brought together to form a load-bearing unit. The head and foot sides, as well as the two long sides, are joined together by a slotted connection to prevent fogging. On one long side, the daybed HANS has a high side part.
The interplay of the two materials steel and wood makes the daybed appear very delicate, which is supported by the wood layering of the side parts visible at the edges. At the same time, it convinces with its stability and load-bearing capacity. The formally independent design shows echoes of typical design features of the Ulm School in its choice of materials and construction.
The Daybed HANS can be supplemented with various fittings. Especially suitable for the daybed HANS is the mattress of the same name. It is covered with anthracite upholstery fabric, is reversible, removable and washable. It is best used with the rollable slatted frame (item no. 59155), which, due to its low structure, optimally matches the mattress lowering of the daybed HANS. In addition, the pillowcases designed specifically for the daybed HANS are available with separate inlets.
Dimensions: W 98 × L 211.6 × H 35 cm, with back section: 78 cm; for mattress size W 90 × L 200 cm, mattress lowering (space between the support strip of the slatted frame and the top edge of the head or side sections): Head section 11.5 cm, side sections 11.5 cm
Weight: 31 kg
Material: birch multiplex (origin in Eastern Europe), 18 mm, black phenolic resin coated on both sides or white melamine resin coated on both sides (multiplex panels originating from car body construction may show variations in colour and structure as well as occasional small pressure marks), frame: sheet steel and tubular steel, powder-coated (light grey RAL 7035 or black grey RAL 7021)

Concept
A well-designed yet delicate construction: The lean steel legs bed HANS stands on flow from the head and foot of the bed (also made from steel). When you add the two side panels made of coated birch plywood, they build the supporting unit along with the head and food section. You can easily plug the parts together without using metal fittings due to a slotted connection. By combining steel and wood in this way, the two materials give the bed a sophisticated look; a detail visible at the edges enhances the impression: the wood layering of the side parts comes here into the picture. However, the bed impresses with its stability and load-bearing capacity. While quite independent in its underlying creative idea, the design shows echoes of typical design features of the Ulm School in its choice of materials and construction.
We offer an extra-high headboard made of coated birch plywood separately. You will be able to attach it to the headboard’s steel frame without needing any tools. We supply bed sizes 140, 160, and 180 cm. You find the two wide beds equipped with a center rail for supporting slatted frames. The bed HANS combines well with rollable slatted frames or slatted frames with a surrounding fixed frame. Besides, we recommend the slatted frames from our assortment. Please note the information about lowering the height in the measurements information. Delivery without the extra-high headboard, slatted frame, mattress, and bed linen.
