Concept
Bottle is a stackable bottle rack, and was the first in a long series of pieces designed by Jasper Morrison for Magis over the past twenty years. It has come to be one of his most famous icons (and is part of the permanent collections of many museums) as well as one of his most frequently copied. Four natural anodized aluminium tubes join two identical standard injection-moulded polypropylene panels with rounded corners, forming a module with a capacity for six bottles. The piece is effectively a reworking of the crates normally used to carry bottles of mineral water or beer, but it is designed so that the modules can be stacked vertically, even covering entire walls, or be used singularly as independent decor features, playing on the relationship between solids and spaces.
