Concept

I think it’s interesting to look at traditional models like the Maruni Britannia Chair and to try to reinvent them as contemporary models. Design is fixed on making ‘new looks’, but a large majority of the furniture market is made up of reproductions of classic designs, probably because people feel more comfortable or they feel they are taking less risk by selecting ‘antiques’. So our intention is to accept this common taste for the Classic look, but to give it a fresher look, keeping what’s good from the past and refining the forms to make something more contemporary.
