Impressing steel stairs at the Vienna Max Mara store

Product description
Due to its 4-flight and ellipsoidal rounded floor plan the steel staircase in the flagship store of the Italian luxury brand Max Mara in Vienna is quite distinctive in architectural terms. On the exterior, the staircase sculpture convinces with partly parapet-high box-type stringers, which were designed with a groove on the upper side to accommodate glass panels. The glass panes of laminated safety glass were realised of low-oxide glass. Flat-steel elements with recesses on the bottom side for on-site LED lighting serve as a handrail.
The appearance and construction of the three intermediate landings with an opening angle of 125° each as well as the exit landing were designed by MetallArt experts analogous to the steps of the staircase.
The stability of the box-type stringer stairs is also guaranteed by two steel supports attached on the wall side in the area of the load-bearing steel brackets. They were cladded with fire protection panels on site.
