Concept
Personalization
The combination of moulds, water jet, the range of marble types and the binding pastes allow almost infinite personalization with minimum order quantities as of a few square metres. The design can be developed in 3 sizes; 40 x 40 x 2 cm, 60 x 60 x 2.2 cm, 150 x 65 x 2.5 cm
The project
Rialto is the name we have given to a flooring which is a reinterpretation of the ancient terrazzo floor which was born in Venice. In ancient times they would take pebbles and stone pieces from demolished buildings, and bind them with lime. In modern times electricity has enabled such floors to be polished.
Production
Nowadays industrial production methods allow the supply of slabs cut from blocks or the creation of characteristic small tiles made from different sizes and shapes. The second method is the one used in Rialto, it is the only way to allow personalized design and precision on a large scale. The Rialto series is composed of water-jet cut marble inserts in various materials in calm balanced colours such as bardiglio, pearl pink, carrara white, and Sardinian “breccia”
Advantages
Moreover by making Rialto in tiles we can not only create personal designs but we avoid additional work once the cement is stable, we have few logistical problems and faster laying.
