Alek
Dining tables from MOYA
Product description
The Alek table is small in size, but interprets the greatest of table design ideas -the idea of space focus, the central point. People meet around tables, whether it is for food or conversation, work, discussion, and the Alek reinforces this meaning by being shaped around a single spot. Table legs gather towards the center, drawing in the surrounding space, and on the table top this center further resonates in the form of concentric circles. Available in sizes 1m and 1.20m (diameter), the Alek does not invade the interior. It subtly articulates it through shape and color. A void in the center of the circles, the beginning of the Alek shape, is a space left for what is placed on the table: at one moment the nucleus of the table might be a bowl of fruit, a bouquet of flowers, or a stack of books – the most important things to you at the moment.
“Nature is an infinite sphere of which the center is everywhere and the circumference nowhere.”
