Scandinavian Tapestry by Christina Knall
Rugs from Nazmiyal Rugs
Product description
Here is a unique and truly lovely vintage carpet – a vintage Scandinavian tapestry that was woven in Sweden during the middle years of the twentieth century with a composition by Cristina Knall. A truly imaginative and creative work, this Scandinavian rug is an excellent example of the broad possibilities inherent in textile design. Perhaps what is most intriguing about this Swedish carpet is the strength with which its central design shows through, despite the simplicity of the components that go into making up that design. From a distance, the subject of the piece is clear: it is a landscape, depicting a grassy hill by a coral beach, the ocean stretching off into the distance. A closer look, however, shows that these images are simply impressions generated by a careful arrangement of color and shape. Undulating lines of green bunch together to form the grassy hill; coral and brown shapes swim together to form the beach; and an expanse of blue dotted with white details is the sea. A beautiful and unique composition, this vintage Swedish textile is an exiting work of art.
