Like some of the best and more traditional vintage Scandinavian rugs, this attractive mid-century Swedish Kilim rug uses abstract shapes and an understated series of lines to create a postmodern theme. Here, fall colors are carefully chosen to set an earthy and vibrant atmosphere, and the jagged shapes and rigid lines themselves are reminiscent of falling leaves. Six primary diamonds are arranged in a well-grounded configuration, their seemingly simple shapes housing a variety of other lines and connections. Running through the center of each diamond are intersecting horizontal and vertical lines, further dividing the shapes into a collection of triangles, all different colors but unified in their presence throughout. Powerful degrees of contrast add further interest to the vintage rug, creating breaks between creamy beige, earthy brown, vibrant red and fiery orange. All of the colors are well-balanced in their arrangement, defining the eclectic harmony within.
