Here is a delightful and exciting vintage carpet - a vintage Scandinavian carpet that was woven in Sweden during the middle years of the twentieth century. A truly unique Swedish carpet, this comely vintage rug is characterized by an intriguing pallet of purples, as well as a distinct design that imbues the carpet with a strong energy. A complex series of borders surrounds the piece - indeed, the borders here are more complex and more traditional than in many mid-century rugs and carpets. The primary border of this Scandinavian rug is broken up into constituent compartments, with the larger portions featuring a pair of detail elements, and the smaller portions featuring just one. The field is colored ivory, and consists primarily of the activity of five vertical bands. These bands are composed of purple detail elements that beautifully incorporate the pallet and the design elements of the borders.
