Vintage Swedish Kilim by Ingegerd Silow

Rugs from Nazmiyal Rugs, Designed by Ingegerd Silow

Product description

Here is an appealing vintage carpet – a vintage Swedish kilim that was woven in Scandinavia during the middle years of the twentieth century. Characterized by an exciting and complex design of geometric figures, this lovely vintage kilim features a fetching pallet of greens. With an especially sophisticated composition, this Swedish kilim exudes a strong dynamism and intriguing energy which travels from one geometric figure to the next. Resting on top of a complex arrangement of small square crosses is a fascinating network of diamond shapes, colored a vibrant shade of green and decorated with black and white detail elements. Arranged as they are resting upon or slightly above the remainder of the composition, this tangle of rectilinear figures seems to occupy a more central portion in the overall expression of this piece. Indeed, much of the energy that this mid-century kilim possesses has its roots in an understated battle for centrality among its many constituent design elements. An intriguing and unique work, this vintage Swedish kilim designed by Ingegerd Silow is a truly exceptional example.
