Unlike many other fine vintage Swedish kilims, this flat woven example foregoes the use of abstract figures and forms and instead uses familiar colors and designs to create a more relate-able Swedish Kilim folk art scene. This mid century Scandinavian Kilim depicts a beautiful folk art scene, almost as if it has popped out of a storybook. The rich, earthy brown background houses random arrangements of trees, shrubs, and fronds. Adding to the uniqueness of this vintage rug is the presence of several milky white goats, which are playfully arranged, and they appear to be enjoying the surrounding environment. Behind some of the goats are carts filled with people, drawn as charmingly simple as the rest of the environment.
