Concept
White Transformation
Simon Legald’s popular lamp design, Amp, is now available in a new version made entirely in white. White opalescent glass and white marble give the characteristic design a smooth appearance and create an elegant and edgy minimalistic look.
The white transformation applies to the entire Amp collection, which consists of a table lamp and two pendant lamps. The idea for the lamps came to the designer when he was restoring an old 1960’s radio at home. The tube amplifier from the old radio inspired him to create the simple oval shape, just as the name Amp refers to the English term: tube amplifier.
Amp combines the materials glass and marble that add a visual fragility and sensuous heaviness to the design. The white Amp lamps are made with opalescent glass, which is less transparent than the smoky and golden glass of the original lamps. The opaqueness of the material highlights the shape of the lamp, making it appear as a pure and ghostly aesthetic silhouette.
The lamp collection produces a beautiful and comfortable light, and the sophisticated design can form a part of many different interior decors. Use the new white Amp lamps as centrepieces in a decor of dark and saturated colours, or let them be the icing on the cake of a light and minimalistic style.
Colours: White/white, gold/green, smoke/black
