Product description
Concept
SoundRoom by NOTI is an original and innovative system of office furniture. It comprises a range of complementary solutions which make it possible to compose a landscape of the contemporary office with a focus on spatial and acoustic aspects. SoundRoom integrates an innovative acoustic panel technology with the sound-diffusing geometry drawing on solutions that are used in recording studios. The systemic design consisting of a variety of mobile acoustic screens makes it possible to deliver an array of functionalities required for work, and to create an architectural context for furniture.
NOTI's SoundRoom is designed for open office spaces which make use of ICT technologies and new systems for organizing work and rest. Aside from business-oriented buildings, the system is also suitable for official institutions, libraries or public facilities focused on meetings, team work and creative activities.
The new collection from NOTI is an intelligent system of supporting workers in the management of working time and specific workplace tasks. The concept of personalized furniture dedicated to different work zones takes into account all working needs from the viewpoint of architecture, investment and business. Itoffers an opportunity to freely define different work spaces and conditions, which has a significant positive effect on quality and performance, fosters good relations between workers and produces a range of benefits for the enterprise over a long-term perspective. This is because acoustic comfort achieved with SoundRoom is necessary to perform working tasks reliably and without errors, and ensures undisturbed exchange of information and successful communication. Screen walls and small "oases" make it possible to physically separate oneself from co-workers, and provide privacy in the workplace.
Users are free to create for themselves formal and informal spaces for working and resting. Companies are able to arrange areas for creative or analytical teams, depending on current needs, and to model job-related clusters within buildings. Work teams have access to a virtually unlimited number of possibilities to set up spaces for individual and team work, comfortable meetings and concentration.
The furniture system is distinctive for the use of five basic elements (panels) which are unified with respect to dimensions and design, allowing for easy configurability of all types of furniture. The flexible elements offer an opportunity to arrange the office interior with the use of armchairs, sofas, desks, partition walls and phone booths.
The five basic structural elements are a guarantee that every new SoundRoom configuration is lightweight, mobile, easy to rearrange and safe in use.
The high acoustic quality of the SoundRoom system has been confirmed in tests conducted by the AGH University of Science and Technology (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, Department of Mechanics and Vibroacoustics) in Cracow for compliance with the standards:
ISO 354:2005 [Measurement of sound absorption in a reverberation room], which determines the acoustics class.
ISO 10053:2001 [Measurement of office screen sound attenuation under specific laboratory conditions], which determines noise reduction.
A unique feature of SoundRoom is the use of light polyester felt. The non-woven fabric covers on both sides a honeycomb-shaped cardboard core with hexagonal cells. The resulting element, produced in the process of thermoforming, is a lightweight, extremely rigid and visually attractive panel which is pleasant and warm to the touch. The panels have a characteristic wavy shape on the inner side and are flat on the outer side.
As the panels are covered with a layer of felt, pale or dark grey in colour, there is no need for extra upholstery. Textures and fabric colours included in the NOTI contract sample book are only available for armchair and sofa seats and backrest, shelves and the inside of phone booths. The fabrics perform an additional acoustic function.
