Ascari
Desks from Nucraft
Product description
Concept
Developed in collaboration with Gensler, serving as product design consultant, Ascari combines a wealth of elegantly conceived casegoods elements for outstanding presence and performance. The European-influenced design pairs beautifully with a range of settings and aesthetic schemes, allowing it to blend seamlessly into any environment. The convergence of thick and thin surfaces, the use of mixed materials and the combination of modern form and old-world craftsmanship create a well-balanced private office space that embodies professional style and casual luxury.
With 2”-thick work surfaces that suggest solid wood, Ascari has an impressive presence. Veneer wraps around all four edges for a seamless look.
The 1”-thick door and drawer fronts are substantial. To balance their scale, a 22½-degree cutback slims the outer edge to just a quarter of an inch. The cutback is a creative design element that visually unites Ascari components. Hoop legs on runoff desks and X legs on tables do the same. The legs, which appear thick or thin from different angles, are striking in their simplicity and elegance.
Mindful of storage trends, Ascari work walls support thin-profile aluminum display shelves that can replace bulky bookshelves and bins for a more personalized and less crowded workspace. Low-profile LED lighting can be added under the shelves. The work wall is also designed to support wide screen monitors.
Desks have centered pencil drawers lined with felt plus magnetic partitions that users can arrange to divide interior space as needed.
Ascari efficiently supports technology while keeping cables at bay. Power and data support is hidden within the desk’s base and concealed wire management components. Height-adjustment mechanisms are shrouded. All you see is the fine furniture.
