Häggbom
Armchairs from O.H. Sjögren, Designed by Carl Malmsten
Product description
Concept
Many of the items of furniture created by Carl Malmsten were commissioned works. The furniture would often be given the name of the person placing the order. In this case the Häggbom armchair was designed for the civic architect at the time, Sven Häggbom in Gävle. You can almost see how Carl tried to capture the client’s character in the furniture. The armchair is available with a fixed seat or loose cushion. Framework made of solid pine from Swedish forests. The seat is made with nozag springs, and in the loose cushion version it’s made with a combination of nozag and spiral springs. The padding consists of cold foam, polyether and fibrefill and the legs are made from solid oak. All production is done at O.H. Sjögren’s factory in Tranås, Sweden
