Eclettica

The essential characteristic behind “Eclettica” is the complicated use of different joints which enables the two structures to slide into each other. To achieve this we had to study the design of the eight legs, all made by hand and each one different from the other. Plinio il Giovane believes in an ecological philosophy which also means designing products that can be used in many different ways and by different generations.“Eclettica” is a chair, a pouf, a small table, a bed, a sofa, using a very light frame that it is always up to date. As soon as it was designed, it was included in the 100 pieces of Italian design chosen for the international I.DOT exhibition. No piece of this structure is superfluous,
from the wooden pegs which keep the bed slats in place to the cushion on the arm rest. The cushions are made from ecological material, which breathes, is light, hypoallergenic and ideal to guarantee natural sleep. Pure linseed oil is used to treat the wood, to enhance the grain but also to make it water repellant as well as improve the gloss and generally prolong the life of the product.
