A trunk of clear glass provides the central stem to which over a hundred peaks pulled from soft, molten glass are embedded. The lamp is constantly re-heated to ensure that its texture responds to the addition of each 'thorn'. A process which only the most talented glassblowers could perfect. A generous free-blown lens-shaped base is fused to the column giving it all the grandeur it deserves.
