Bremer
Clothes racks from Postfossil, Designed by Thomas Walde
Product description
Concept
This sculptural piece of furniture called Der Bremer represents that watershed event in our history forecast by many scientists; fossil fuels gave our civilisation such a boost that long-standing traditions have been supplanted by new technologies and inventions. Forty years ago we would have washed our clothes just once a month on a single wash day, but today we often do the washing on a daily basis. The Bremer clothes airer leads the way in resisting the excessive use of the washing machine, which probably does more to create dirty water than remove dirt from clothes.
