Mattia Floorlamp Steel / Brass
Free-standing lights from Serax, Designed by RICHARD CECCANTI ASTON
Product description
Concept
The Mattia lamp was inspired both by Modernist architecture and by the frame of a racing bicycle. “I am a fanatical cyclist myself and I have welded the steel tubes of the lamp together in the same way as a bicycle frame”, says the designer.
A special detail is that the soldering was done in brass and that the attachment points remain visible in the end product. Finally, the robust, sturdy character of the Mattia lamp is countered by an LED strip which is hidden under a perspex bar. This gives the band of light produced by this primitive-looking lamp a somewhat futuristic twist.
